Welcome to the Barkbus

Barkbus is a luxury boutique mobile dog grooming service founded by the Diamond Valley's dog-loving entrepreneurs. Our goal is to offer clients a luxurious service and end traumatic trips for your dog to busy grooming salons. We come to you in our brand-new, low-sensory, air-conditioned, environmentally friendly and totally off-grid mobile grooming salon — the Barkbus. Your dog gets ALL of our attention.

Every groom includes what suits your dog best: a warm massaging hydro bath, warm gentle blow-drier and happy hoodie for anxious dogs, high-velocity dryer and Savur-Fur nozzle for de-sheds, a low-pressure nozzle for bath-dislikers, warm towels from our towel warmer, blueberry facial, pedicure and manicure, calming aromatherapy, relaxing music, an air purifier, and a one-on-one groom that is cage-free and stress-free.

Our Philosophy

For years, groomers followed the old "alpha" approach — dogs were muzzled, held down and forced through grooming to get the job done at the dog's expense. Times have changed. Dogs aren't merely pets anymore; they're family.

Our philosophy is about building a trustful bond with your pet. We don't worry if the job doesn't get done to completion on the first visit. Instead, we help your dog build confidence and a sense of safety: warning them before a loud noise, being gentle and patient, giving affection, breaks and lots of rewards, and bringing them back to calm before we proceed. With practice, every dog can become an amazing grooming dog — treated with love, empathy and compassion. That translates into a less anxious dog, better vet visits and a safe experience.

When should puppies be groomed?

Visiting a groomer can be overwhelming for a puppy — loud dryers, clippers, and being touched all over. We recommend starting between 3 and 4 months old; after 4 months, desensitising a puppy to grooming takes much more time and patience.

We don't set strict times for puppy grooms — we let puppies decide when they've had enough (usually 30–90 minutes). We start with a good sniff around the bus, then brushing, a warm bath with blueberry facial, towel dry, and a gentle introduction to the dryer and clippers with treats and praise at every step. Your puppy won't go home with a full designer groom, but they'll be clean, dry, and well on their way to being a supermodel!

Private Grooming Spa Experience

Our lux mobile spa is a low-sensory sanctuary. We only use premium products and equipment: a warm massaging hydro bath, towel warmer, blueberry facials, calming essential-oil aromatherapy, air purifier, toys, treats and relaxing music. Our grooming salon is designed with your dog's wellbeing as our top priority.

Our Dog Grooming Team

Angela and Shannon have shown exceptional love and dedication to animals all their lives — between them they care for horses, chickens, ducks, parrots, dogs, cats, bunnies, goats, guinea pigs and even a snake, and have taken in many unwanted pets over the years. Advocating for animal welfare, they came up with a plan to end traumatic trips to the grooming salon: a positive experience for all four-legged friends, in their mobile grooming bus.

Lucinda has worked in the animal industry for over ten years, caring for everything from dogs and snakes to lions and crocodiles. She provides behaviour modification, dog sitting and walking at Barkbus, and is passionate about fun, enriching environments for all our furry friends.

"I would like to thank Angela and Shannon for the professional, friendly and very patient service they provided to my fur baby today. We all love the result and I have a very happy dog with the new toys you gave him. Woof woof approved."
"Angela and Shannon were very good with Toby and went to a lot of trouble to make sure he was comfortable with them, as it was his first time in the Barkbus. Toby can't wait to see them again for his next groom." :)
